Ella lawson is used to be alone, used to take care and protect herself. No one else is going to. Growing up in an orphange since she was a toddler made sure of that. Ella knows the hard reality of this world- pray or predator, kill or be killed, strong or weak. She wishes she didn't have to know, wishes her life were different but you don't always get what you want.
Ella thought she will spend the rest of her life alone, when she was young she hated that fact but as she grow up she accepted that. But a terrible singular event throws her life into a chaotic storm.
A curse unbroken, a curse she never had any knowledge of- Ella is a werewolf. So she runs, runs far away, tries to adjust. Until a few years later she meets someone, a werewolf girl named Hayley, her past makes her a kindred spirit for Ella, and so they decide to stick together. Just like that two lonely girls become the family the other needed for years.
Ella didn't think much about going to Mystic Falls to help a friend and other Hybrids, thought another stop, another destination in life and then she will move on. Nothing is permanent in life, especially not Ella's, but she never could of predicted meeting a 1,000 years old Original Hybrid will change her whole life.
