Everyone has a magical doppelganger, better known as a fairy godmother, and they are born at the same moment and in the same place that their human is. It is the job of the government to take away the magical child and place it in its own world. However, mix ups are not uncommon and sometimes the human is mistaken for its doppelganger and taken to the magical world, but these errors are usually fixed before the children turn five. However, it didn't go this way for Amy Teng and Elizabeth Gothel and they now have to figure out how to make it through high school (both magical and normal) as they make the transition into each others life--15 years too late.
