Anni Freeman has been very shy in her home in New Jersey. After recently discovering her father's email, that was the only way her old Tennessee life stayed with her. The summer before Anni heads to Princeton at the end of the summer, her father invited her to stay with him and her step-mom Audrey. Anni always felt so shy and left out her whole life until she meets a girl named Ruth, and Anni feels like she could trust her. Suddenly, Anni keeps seeing one guy everywhere and finds herself surrounded when he calmly comes up to her and says "hello." At first, all she does is sit with Ruth and think about this strange guy. She finds herself in love with the notorious Miller Kane after hanging out with him for a little while and soon Miller discovers the feeling called "love" and how one shy girl turned his world upside down.
