Hades and Persephone
Persephone has already been kidnapped by Hades, her unwanted and unexpected suitor. Demeter has already cast a famine on all the humans in her grief. Hades struggles to win Persephone over...but perhaps Persephone has always been meant to be with him, and she wasn't an innocent as she was thought she was... Moderate explicit parts. *not finished* "Look, Persephone, you're a reasonable Goddess, more reasonable than most. You have to understand I was not born the Lord of the Underworld. The title was appointed to me because I was the unlucky one. My job is just as important as my brother's jobs. I wasn't selected because of my cruel ways but now because of the way people speak of me and fear me now I am the cruel one whether or not I like it. Do you honesty think it is fair that it should work that way? People take one look at me and assume I'm the devil." Persephone crouches back in her seat. I realize I am standing and seat myself, trying to calm myself. "Do you honestly think that being in charge of the dead and judging them makes me undeserving of love, of a wife? I'm doomed to be exiled down here. I don't even have the sun to keep me warm, Persephone. You're all the sun I have..." *This story is also not meant to be factually accurate, and is simply an interpretation of the story.Complete
Elysium Stars
Before modern science explained the changing seasons, there was another truth-one whispered in the shadows of ancient Greece, where gods walked among mortals and love could reshape the very nature of earth. Persephone, daughter of Demeter, and goddess of fertility is stolen by Hades himself. As crops wither and the world grows cold, desperate mortals seek answers while her mother's grief threatens to starve humanity. But in the depths of the Underworld, a different story unfolds-one of a king who rules the dead with surprising gentleness and a young goddess discovering her own power. Was this an abduction born of selfish desire, or something far more? Through the eyes of Persephone herself, witness the true account of how winter came to be, and finally learn the answer to the question that has haunted this myth for millennia: Did Persephone love Hades, or was she merely his captive? A historically-grounded retelling that reads like recovered ancient testimony, revealing the human truths behind the myth of Persephone and Hades. Writing Process Note: This story was created using a hybrid method: dialogue, plot, and emotional beats are mine; some description and structure were AI-drafted from my direction, then edited by hand. She was considered an isolated and violent immortal, who loathed change and was easily given to a slow black rage like no others.
