4 parts Ongoing Mature
Hermione Jean Granger was abandoned before she even knew who she was. Left in a trash bin behind a forgotten café in Hogsmeade, wrapped in a scrap of cloth, she should have been another tragic story. But Albus Dumbledore found her. He took her in, perhaps believing he could save her. But Hermione wasn't one to be saved. By seven, the resentment in her heart had grown too strong, pushing her to reject him, and everything he stood for. She chose to be an orphan-an outsider-rather than accept his care. When her Hogwarts letter arrives at eleven, it feels like destiny knocking at her door. She knows who the headmaster is, yet she walks into the castle with her chin high, her heart cold. The Sorting Hat barely touches her head before wailing out "Slytherin!."-a choice so blatantly obvious to everyone but her. In Slytherin, Hermione surprisingly finds her place. She meets Draco Malfoy, heir and legacy to the most prestigious Wizarding bloodline. Together against all odds, they form a bond-sharp, quiet, and built on an unspoken understanding. Their friendship grows over the years, a constant amidst the shifting shadows around the shifting shadows around them. But Hermione's path was never designed to be simple. She is drawn into a hefty bargain with the Dark Lord, a quest that no one truly understands. Not even Draco. The weight of it presses on her as she follows orders whispered to her, the stakes unknown, the consequences inevitable. When the truth is revealed, they will all learn what she's been hiding-and what it will cost them all.

Prequel to Telling them the truth - Reunions --- She looked down at her plate. She wasn't hungry at all. She didn't want to eat, but she had to. She had to be here for Melody. Melody needed her. Or she needed someone. Someone that could take care of her. She didn't eat at all. After the feast, Draco waited outside the Great Hall. She walked towards him. He noticed and began to speak before she could. "Hey, I'm sorry for all those years and so are my friends. We just didn't know any better then because we were raised that way." "Like I said, I already forgave you." She answers him. "Now, do you want to go to our common room and dorms?" "I would like that." He answers with a small smile. "You didn't look surprised when McGonagall said I was the head girl. How come? I wasn't on the train ride you couldn't have known." "McGonagall told me on the train. Because you weren't there and she thought it was necessary for me to know before the announcement in the Great Hall. And besides, who else could be head girl? You have the highest scores in every subject! I can't even beat you!" He answered desperately, but it was obvious that he was acting like it. "Come on. It's on the seventh floor. It is hidden behind a painting. It's near the Room of Requirement" she points out. "Wasn't that destroyed by Crabbe?" 'He can't know that it still exists. He'd find out about Melody...'She thought."Yeah, I meant, where it was." She say with doubt in her voice. He must have noticed because he looks at her with a raised eyebrow. "What, did I say something wrong? " Hermione asks him. "No, but you weren't sure. That's not like you at all." "War changed us all, that includes me" she sighs. --- Couples Theo X Astoria Blaise X Pansy Draco X Hermione

COMPLETED!!! :)) Hope you enjoy reading my story xx! This hasn't been completely edited, so I apologise for any mistakes. "Out of the way, Granger." Draco Malfoy pushed past her to the ingredients cupboard in the potions room. "Honestly, how rude could you get, Malfoy?" She pushed him back as she reached for the bottle on the top shelf, but, found herself just ever slightly too short. "Need some help?" The blonde haired boy smirked as he looked her up and down - why was he still here anyways, "Seems like you're a little short." The brunette spun around and glared at him, "Yes, I've noticed that, thank you very much." she pulled out her wand, "Accio," the bottle flew down to her, "And no, I won't be needing your help." "Well, you did say that I was acting rude so I was just offering my help." He shot her a half smirk half smile and walked off to his bench. There was something about that smile that was somewhat genuine, it was a playful smile. Not the hateful smirk he used to give her every time they saw each other, even when they were still kids, no. It was different and Hermione hated it. She hated the way if made her want to smile back, the way it made her want to grin inwardly to herself or the way it tinged her cheeks a rosy colour. Merlin, she hated that stupid smile of his, but at the same time, she just couldn't get enough. \\ there will be slight swearing, just FYI ;) \\ DISCLAIMER: all of the characters, places, drinks and spells (and probably other things) except for the ones I've made up, belong to the amazing JK Rowling!
