The Captain was a challenge I presented to myself a little while ago. It is unlike my other work. I limited the action, and focused almost the entire short story on strong emotion. It is presented in a way unlike my usual writing style and in a Sci-Fi setting which I am not used to. When I get more of my work up, you can see my normal writing style. It can also be found in my Co-authored book, The Hunter of Dunglyr.
The Captain is a short story focusing on the troubles of a captain on the ship, the Admission. He is facing death, and has only moments to think about what matters to him most and question his biggest decision in life. The story is limited to this small segment of his story. as a way for me to experiment with new things.

Survival in space was our only option. The dying earth and its sickly inhabitants forced us to flee to the stars. My father, the commander of the elite group chosen to live amongst the stars, brought me along for the journey.
