This is a short story I had written for a weekly contest. The contest theme was Acceptance. Readers voted for the story that best exemplified the theme. I didn't win this one, but I think I should have. I could say more, but I will leave it at that. You be the judge.
I tried to make the story lighthearted, and I mixed fantasy and real science. In addition, I threw in a couple of religious allusions. If biblical scholars are paying attention, they might take a swipe at my story, but only if they are paying attention.

Lily is a snow witch with powerful magic and a quick temper. Not the best combination. But she keeps to herself, and the few people she lets get close know she has a good heart, and that's enough for her. She doesn't need any drama in her life. This is the result of a challenge I set myself on my blog. I decided to write a weekly serial based entirely on writing prompts taken from the Tumblr blogs I follow. I did no planning from week to week, and researched as I needed to. Due to the nature of this project, the only editing I did was line edits--so plotholes may exist.
