Burning Embers: Creation

Annaliese Narkoi is a being unlike any of her kind, she's a vampire who refuses to take lives for sport and the use of blood to keep herself alive. Including this, she also balances her reserved life as a part of a community of other vampires who all reside in houses near each other in the woods.

With her tyrannical brother Demetrius instilling fear within the community and heavily influencing them, Anna works to maintain a good image and not follow in his footsteps. However, when she makes a rash decision to house a human she discovers in the woods, Anna must find a means of protecting him and even finds herself falling in love with him. This being exposed can only lead to turmoil and shunning from those in her community including upsetting the temperamental Demetrius.

Not only must she keep a look out for her brother's watchful eye, she must also watch for the human who harbors a few dark secrets of his own that could serve as a threat to her life and vampires existence altogether.

Will Annaliese be able to maintain her life as is and protect the life of the human she has fallen for? Or will betrayal and her brother change her life for the worst?
