I was the outcast of the school, nobody paid attention to me. Life was pure shit, with a druken mother and a deadbeat father, put on no friends, and bad grades to that.

I stared at the sky in amazement, it swirled in black and grey, the moon illumating off it perfectly. I was speechless, the wind was a light breeze, slowly blowing my bangs off my face. All of a sudden, out of the corner of my eye, I saw a scary sight.

At a certain spot in the road, it sudden turned into a tarp looking liquid. I was in confusion as a hand slowly emerged from the black, sticky goop. I gasped, lunging backwards and falling down into the grass. My eyes grew, and my heartbeat picked up when I saw a girl standing in the street, where the goop once lay. I was in too much of a shock to stand, so I quickly tried to scoot away on my butt.

"No don't go. Help me please." The girl's voice begged, it almost sounded broken and sad.

"W-who are you?" I ask, rubbing at my eyes to make sure this was real.

"My name is Annalee, and you must be Wyatt Emerson." She replies.

''How do y-you know my name?" I ask.

"It's easy, I'm dead. I know everything." She replies back, a sad smile appearing on her face.

Without her mother's guidance, Valerie has cultivated her fire magic on her own and she makes no effort to keep her powers hidden. Unsettling visions from Rhia's grandmother and dangerous sleepwalking episodes throw into question Valerie's past and what role her presence plays in the strange happenings.
