Mum tells me that dads a hero, someone who has fought in wars and saved the world more than once, that is the reason he has to spend so much time away from home. She says that it's more than enough to make up for his distorted past and makes sure to let me know that none of what happened is his fault.

But the kids at school don't want to know me. They say that I'm going to end up like my father, who they see as a criminal, a bad man who deserves to be locked away forever for all of the destruction he has caused and that the reason he isn't home a lot of the time is because he's being contained in a psych ward for the safety of the public. However they don't know the full story, but then again, neither do I.

And whenever I try to ask dad about it - that is when I actually get to see him - well, he just doesn't want to talk about it. Sometimes I'm not sure if it's his story or me that's the problem. I feel like he resents me. It's not just that he avoids the subject, it's almost like he avoids spending any of the limited time we have together with me at all. Everything between us is so secretive. I hardly know a thing about him apart from what everyone else already knows, and considering he's my father that doesn't seem right.

                                          ~~~~
Life is confusing enough for regular people to navigate but for Alex, the son of Harper Jones and Bucky Barnes it can be a complete and utter whirlwind. With his parents attempting to keep his fathers dark past under wraps as much as possible in an attempt to protect him are they really doing him any favours or are they actually costing him more than they think? And when he finds out the truth about his fathers twisted and ruined life how will he cope with the struggle of coming to terms with such an ordeal and ultimately, will his parents greatest fears be realised that he can never look his father in the eye the same way ever again?
"Hold on!" He asks vehemently. "What do you want?" I ask, irritated. His blue eyes widen and still manage to shine in the dim moonlight, his dark, golden hair looking like a halo on his head. America's golden boy he is. He hesitates at my question, as if he doesn't even know himself. "Why don't you come back with me? I can get you some food, a warm bed, some clean clothes?" He offers kindly. I look at him skeptically. "Back where? Your ivory tower?" I sass. He presses his lips together before jumping to the other dumpster. "Look, I just want to help. It doesn't matter what the press says. They get a lot wrong anyway." He shoots a smile down at me to try and win me over. "Well, that's wonderfully patriotic of you," I hop down and start walking down the alley away from him. "but no thanks." I slip my thumbs under the straps of my backpack and clutch on. Steve Rogers appears next to me in seconds, walking with me. I create distance between us, making sure we don't touch. Before he opens his mouth, I stop us both, my temper flaring up. "Look, I have no interest in being your charity case. I don't want to be in the press, used as an example of how good the Avengers are, or any of that shit. I just want to be left alone!" I huff, pulling my backpack tighter against my back to resist punching Captain America. Steve's eyes go to my still bloody knuckles in the dim light and his eyebrows furrow even further. "Oh, dear god." I complain at seeing more concern on his face. Before he can put a gentle hand on my shoulder and give me a rousing speech about justice or something I kick him hard in the balls. As soon as he leans over I start sprinting. I reach another dumpster and jump on top of it, then leap to the nearest fire escape. Then, I'm on the roof and feel like I'm flying. Some people've gotta learn the hard way; not everyone wants to be saved. SEQUEL 'Into the Ring' IS UP NOW! *I DO NOT OWN THE AVENGERS. ONLY THE CHARACTERS AND SITUATIONS I CREATE.*
As an eighteen year old girl in Brooklyn, New York in the 1930's, falling pregnant unplanned is not on your agenda. So when it happens, it's needless to say your world comes crashing down. You know it is going to change your life forever and at this point of course you think it will be for the worst, especially when everyone who you thought loved you and held you dear turns their backs on you. But there is one person left you can depend on. The person you would trust with your life. Your life long best friend, Bucky Barnes. Worried what everyone will think and ashamed of your increasingly not so little secret, Bucky stands by your side and is with you throughout what you think will be the biggest hardship of your life... little do you know that this is only the beginning. Keeping your secret and standing by your side when times get tough stirs up brand new kinds of feelings between the two of you. But it turns out that knowing Bucky Barnes comes with a price, and playing such a huge role in his life, can you handle being dragged so deeply into all that is to come? It's seems that whenever Bucky and you start to think you might finally be able to settle down together and start a relatively normal life something has to go wrong. And now with not just yourself to look out for is it worth the involvement? The bond between you two seems unbreakable after all you've gone through together but with fate seemingly determined to keep ruining your lives will something ultimately go so wrong that it just can't be fixed? I will put warnings at the beginnings of chapters for smut and triggers etc. DISCLAIMER: I do not own any of the characters, these are just things I imagine!
Whassup, I'm Lucas. Lucas Stark, but call me Luke. Yeah, I know what your thinking, the son of the great Tony Stark, genius, billionaire, playboy, and philanthropist, who's also Iron Man, everyone's hero in shiny armor. Not like I grew up with that man who ruined my life. I was sold to HYDRA by my own mother and been their soldier my whole life, and yeah, he is also to blame. I was tortured my whole life, beaten into becoming an assassin I never wanted to be in the first place. my parents were never present in my life, they never came back for me. I don't like getting close to people cause the 2 people I thought I was supposed to trust sold and abandoned me. I guess a few good things came out of HYDRA, like learning how to fight, meeting Wanda and Pietro Maximoff, and getting my powers. Yeah, I have powers. All 3 of us went through a series of tests from List and Wolfgang von Strucker, where we were exposed to energy from some Scepter, which killed most of the other volunteers, but survived and experienced very different side-effects. I'm not like my dad, Steve, Nat, or other superheroes, while I care about protecting people and will try my best, I'm manipulative and deceitful at my worst, so watch out. But I've grown a lot, I became an avenger, connected with my father, met my best friend, and more, all whilst saving the world countless times. (I only own Luke and a few more characters, but the others belong t the MCU and some from Marvel Comics. This story takes place after Captain America: The Winter Soldier to now, including some original stories and probably some Marvel characters who aren't in the MCU)
