"Clemence! Look at how easy it is. Stop worrying, I'll survive." She laughs. Balancing on the ledge of the bridge. "Olive! Come down, it's dangerous!" I scream. "Look!" She starts standing on one leg and does a ballet pose. She does a pirouette but loses grip and stumbles. My heart rate increases. "Get down!" I scream more panicked than ever. She just laughs it off. "I can prove it one more time!" She does a sauté and her confidence fades when she misses the ledge and falls. I run and try to grab her hand but it's too late instead I grab air and watch as she falls to her death. Her face is terrified and our gaze's lock. "CLEMENTINE!" She screams and that is the last thing I hear before she hits the ground and her body becomes limp. At that moment I knew she was dead. ~ * ~ Clementine is sixteen when her best friend dies. This leaves her in agony and devastation. She has one plan, that she shall die. But suddenly the optimistic and joyous Monroe comes along and makes her question her decisions. Will she give up on life or will she from now on live her life fully? One happy boy. One angry girl. Only death can separate them. TRIGGER WARNING This story mentions bipolarity, depression, suicide and contains sexual content. Read at your own risk. Yours Truly. PS: this story was written after I saw 'All The Bright Places' with my best friend :(

"Clementine..." his voice is gentle, as though he's reading my mind. He searches my eyes, concern seeps through his features. I swallow the lump in my throat. I don't like this display of affection. If he hadn't been there, I could be dead. He steps towards me and tucks a hair strand from my face behind my ear, eyes still locked on mine. A shiver runs down my spine at his touch, I'm completely captivated. He nods and caresses the side of my face. I subconsciously nuzzle my face into the palm of his hand, his touch spreads a surprising warmth across my entire body. "I know you can..." he says softly, "You just don't have to." --- Being the daughter of a famous celebrity is a great thing, for most. For Clementine? Not so much. She lead a rather tragic life. The black sheep of her family due to her lack of affinity for fire. Her affinity was quite the opposite. Water in fact. Already in a time when women did not really have much political power or rights, she was outcasted by her family despite being of nobility. Still allowed to live in the distant west wing of the massive Grand Duke's manor, she has never eaten a single meal with her family nor extended family, and has spent her loneliness in her books and sword lessons. Although only taught by the head butler and one of the low ranked knights of the family, she was quite bright and if her family would have given her a chance she would have done great things. If only she didn't die at such a young age. Married off to some "hero" of sort that had slayed the Dragon of the North who was terrorizing the land and threatened the kingdom, this hero also had an affinity for fire and held her in disdain like the rest of her family. Suddenly a girl of another world was transported to their world, picked up by this hero and put into his secure care. The pair soon fell for each other despite the hero's marriage, and many believed Laraine got jealous of this girl of mystery, and tried to kill her. This was definitely not true. But because the girl was favored by the temple and kingdom Laraine was quickly arrested and put on trial. You can probably tell what happened to Laraine. But something strange happened the day of her execution. As soon as her decapitated head hit the ground the sky turned blood red and it began to rain fire. No one survived that day. But for some reason time went back, and Laraine was back to being a child, but with no memory of her future. There were select few in her life, however, that remembered her tragedy and now perhaps will take action to prevent it. NOTE: I'M AWARE THERE ARE A LOT OF INCONSISTENCIES. IT WILL BE EDITED SOME DAY BUT RIGHT NOW I'M JUST TRYING TO FINISH IT.
