He is rude and she ignores him until he apologizes. Both, easily, frustrate the other while simultaneously falling into love. Once her war came to an end she is sent back to live in a boarding school for troubled youth with a young boy she found several years before who she raised on the battle field. Neither were 'troubled' but both had no recollection of society. Therefore they were sent to a school with trained adults that could make them custom to it once again. Her old life is gone. Being sent back to the real world has left Clementine confused. She can't remember a time without violence. The life she was trained to live was "kill or be killed." But now she has to been thrown into a new world that no amount of training could have prepared her for.
