Emily is a six, which means she has been looked down upon and shunned by society for her whole life. her mother beleives the only way to change this is to enter the upcoming competition. Sure it will solve their money problems for a while but is it worth all the constant attention, and not all positive. anyways, by watching the report every friday for her entire existence she has learned that the prince only cares about appearances and what social caste you are in. Will Emily risk it all to save her family? Is she wrong about the prince or is he as self-absorbed as he seems? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The book was inspired by The Selection which was written by the amazing Kiera Cass.
