Jack was your typical small town girl, that is until her father left. The rumors began and she traded in her small town girl persona for leather jackets, combat boots, and cigarettes. It's her senior year and she just wants to finish high school so she can leave town.
Oliver Dean was one of those boys Jack despised, this was of course before his sister died 3 years ago and he left town just to return as someone else entirely. For some reason he gains an interest in Jack.
What was supposed to be another dull year becomes the exact opposite for Jack and Oliver.
A/N: I came up with this late one night when I couldn't sleep so I can't promise that this will be updated often if at all. If this story gains enough support though I will put more effort into it and maybe finish it. I would love to hear what you guys think of it! I'm always open to suggestions!
Also if you notice any familiar themes that is because this is loosely inspired by some of the events in the show Riverdale.

Jack: Book One in the Trilogy, the Battle Begins
In Book 1, Jack conspires with friend Jeremy to undermine their racist, secessionist teacher's efforts to poison his students' minds with his benefits-of-slavery lectures. Will the students buy into it? Not if Jack has any say. The book is dedicated to my brother and to my old friend, Jack, the latter who, at 19, was killed speeding in his too-fast car, alone, in 1971. We met when I was a first grader at a Groton, Massachusetts parochial school. Jack was in second grade, I was in the first grade. One day Jack began teasing on the bus ride home so we got off at his bus stop to fight. I was little - he much bigger. He pinned me to the ground, forced me to quit. That kicked off our friendship that lasted years. Jack was a pitcher on the high school baseball team. He was so fast - somewhat wild. I was afraid to bat against him. He tried out for a professional farm team but didn't make it. He worked in the local factory and had no real career designs other than in sports which were the center of his life. Not long after his failed attempt(s) at major league baseball, he smashed into a tree at high speed on a quiet road early one morning. Jack had a 'hero complex' - needing to be the center of attention. He excelled at sports but wasn't interested in academics. He bet everything on his sports abilities that wowed neighborhood friends growing up. This story also is dedicated to both Jack and my brother, Paul, a friend of Jack's. Paul passed in January, 2016. I finally started Jack's story in 2000 when I began teaching in New York City. It dawned on me one day to transport Jack as a composite character - i.e., a character who has qualities and characteristics that Jack had but who also possessed ones he didn't have - into 1860's America. In the book, Jack becomes the hero - a status that mostly evaded him in real life. I think he would have been proud of the story. Many events are entirely fictional - some are not. All characters are fictional or partially so.Complete
How I got to date the loml
*for those who read the other, it's the same thing but better ✨, I'm re-writing the story, things that were canon before may not be anymore, I'm still bad at writing but better than b4 bc then I was 9th grade* Btw I know barely anything 'bout sports. So if I mess up anything sport-related I'm sorry. Jack is the main character. He used to get bullied and abused but things change when he befriends his bully. His sister is a bitch and is part of the reason he is abused at home. Tom was Jack's bully 😔. We also follow his side of the story and see whatever problems he has going on at home. He finds out Jack has a problem and tries to help him, so they become friends. He is also struggling internally with smth. What is that thing? idk, figure it out. I'm not sure but I think its a slow burn you be the judge (I've decided to add a year to this story. It's 2025, remember this is my own universe so things are not as they'd be irl)

Anyways, Charlotte switched schools because her family had to move, so now she is known as the new girl, same goes for Charlie, the new guy. Charlotte meets this really nice guy, Nate. Nate has this best friend who is the biggest jerk in school, school's player, bad boy, Aiden Throns. Nate tells Aiden that he really likes Charlotte. Aiden and Nate are like brothers, I mean, Nate was adopted by Aiden's parents, so Aiden cares about him, like he is his biological brother. Aiden thinks that Charlotte is using Nate for his brain, because Nate is a super smart guy, knowing Charlotte, she had a brain tumor, so she isn't the brightest/smartest.
