Scales and Gems

The world has ended. 130 years ago, the living system of America collapsed, leaving a flourishing population scrounging for food in a world-wide famine, abandoning most religion and customs in order to survive. Four lord's reign over the ravaged land, more concerned with wealth and power than anything else.

Aaron Price has lived his whole life in Pit, a town located in the center of a nuclear blast crater somewhere near where California used to stand. He has lived his whole life in the bottle of grey smoke, unaware and not caring about the surrounding turmoil. Until he finds himself in the heart of the resistance. Learning his whole life is one big lie, he learns to resents his new home, and even resents what he has learned of himself. But the world is threatening to end once again, and he is the key to stopping it all. The fate of the world rests squarely on his shoulders, and not all the scales and gems in the world can aid him now.
