So this is a memoir piece I entered into a national competition called Arts and Writing Scholastic Awards and I won a silverkey for it (basically second place). I was super excited that my writing actually won an award. For my memoir, I chose to tell the story of the obstacles I faced while growing up and how I dealt with it. I stood outside the lines of perfection, and for a long time I tried to fight it. I tried to fit in, but I was never able to break the barrier between who I was and who I wanted to be. Because who I was, was already perfect and it wasn't society's definition of perfection, it was my own.All Rights Reserved
