Alma Blackwood is a normal teenage girl. As normal as a person with the ability to read minds can be. But when she is kidnapped one evening and taken to an asylum for ‘the supernatural’, her world is tipped upside down. It turns out Alma isn’t who she thought she was. Whilst her kidnappers train her to summon and enhance the powers she didn’t think she had, a man makes his presence known in Alma’s head. She can hear everything he says, see everything he shows her. The thought that somebody can see inside her mind terrifies her. She isn’t used to his; she is the one who penetrates people’s memories, not the other way around. But this presence may be her only means of escape. As her powers begin to develop and things get dangerously out of control, Alma’s realises she’s in way over her head. Not even she can control her own magic. And there’s still the question: who is the mysterious man in her head and what does he want? In a world where nothing is as it seems, can Alma even trust herself?

Alexia Lambre had never been a truly 'normal' girl, because she had always had the added 'bonus' of telekinesis. At least, some might call it a bonus. Alexia would call it a curse, because throughout her entire life she worried about someone finding out about it and taking her away. Someone did find out about it, but not the government like she assumed would happen. She was soon offered a place at what was called 'The School,' a place for people like her to learn about their powers. When she arrived though, she learned otherwise. She makes friends with the other kids, and they all join up against the scientists at the school, those that like to do tests and even experiments on them. Will the group ever escape the school? Or will the appearance of a new teen and 'experiment C' do them in?
