Alma Blackwood is a normal teenage girl. As normal as a person with the ability to read minds can be. But when she is kidnapped one evening and taken to an asylum for ‘the supernatural’, her world is tipped upside down.   It turns out Alma isn’t who she thought she was. Whilst her kidnappers train her to summon and enhance the powers she didn’t think she had, a man makes his presence known in Alma’s head. She can hear everything he says, see everything he shows her. The thought that somebody can see inside her mind terrifies her. She isn’t used to his; she is the one who penetrates people’s memories, not the other way around.   But this presence may be her only means of escape. As her powers begin to develop and things get dangerously out of control, Alma’s realises she’s in way over her head. Not even she can control her own magic. And there’s still the question: who is the mysterious man in her head and what does he want?
