Sami Ashford thinks she knows Ryder Johnston. She's been sat next to him for the entirety of their first term in psychology, and met him on the sixth form induction day in a regrettable circumstance. She thinks he's the stereotypical asshole; attractive, arrogant, cocky and a heartbreaker. She also thinks she knows Isaac Garland; the gorgeous, kind, smiling A* student in her sociology. She believes Isaac is amazing; every inch perfection, and the only boy she would ever need to date. She thinks she knows her brother; a flirty, charismatic player, who can't keep relationships because he is too scared of commitment. She thinks she knows who her heart belongs to, and who she can trust.

She hasn't got a clue.

Anxious. Alone. Afraid. Aiden Griffin never asked to be any of these things, but they define his existence, shaping every moment, ruining any chance for connections, and carving deeper into him with every passing day. His life is a quiet battle, one fought in solitude-lost in the woods, wandering through forgotten cemeteries, and navigating the decaying corners of an uncaring city. He's far from the world that's hurt him, but the words still haunt, sharp and unforgiving. Isolated by the cruelty of those around him, Aiden often feels like an outsider, his mind swirling with thoughts that others can't understand. His autism makes it harder to connect, leaving him drifting in the shadows, struggling to navigate a world that feels overwhelming and unkind. His parents are distant, and no one at school seems to notice that the golden boy everyone admires is the one person Aiden fears most. Then comes Ryder McCallum-charismatic, wild, and fearless. With a smile that could charm anyone and a penchant for adventure and bold risks, Ryder steps into Aiden's life like a whirlwind, challenging everything he's ever known. Ryder dares Aiden to step beyond the cage of his own fears, to be something more than the walls he's built around himself. But Aiden is wary, his heart too tethered to its darkness to trust the light Ryder brings. With every reckless adventure they embark on, Aiden starts to wonder if maybe, just maybe, he's meant for something more. As their friendship evolves into something more profound than either of them anticipated, Aiden finds himself drawn to Ryder, a boy as unpredictable as he is magnetic-a boy who slips away just as quickly as he arrives, leaving Aiden to question if he's chasing a dream. But no matter how elusive Ryder becomes, one thing remains undeniable: for the first time, Aiden feels alive with a love that makes him believe in something greater than himself, and he'll do whatever it takes to hold on.

Landon Ashford. Star quarterback. And keeping up with the stereotype, he's a Grade-A asshole. Normally, I would have kept my mouth shut. But Hayley just confessed to him that she's really into him and wants to go out on a date with him. "Helena, you're not adequate enough for me," he mocks. "And you're not even pretty enough to ignore your lack of a personality. So please get it through your head: Dating you is out of the question." Cue the laughter of his loyal pack of brainless minions. Cue Hayley's tears. And cue me-finally snapping. I step towards him with slow claps, "Impressive." He looks at me questioningly so I continue, "When you were a little boy, your parents said they wanted you to be exotic. But the dyslexic you misunderstood. And now you're just toxic." "Excuse me?" he is annoyed. "Just because I don't want to date your petty friend doesn't mean I'm toxic." "With all due respect, which is none, this has nothing to do with you rejecting Hayley," I maintain an even sarcasm with my tone, loud enough for half of the cafeteria. "It's about your words. Seven thousand languages in this world and still you chose to speak shit." "Your friend needs to understand her place, in whatever language she gets," he states. "Audacity must be on sale this year, right?" I ask everyone around. I could hear a few giggles from some students and my friends. As their fight continues, Shanaya Kapoor starts to realise... she is making an enemy out of Landon Ashford, the golden boy. And Prince Charming sure will be ruthless towards this evil witch trying to dethrone him. It's going to be a trying time for the rest of her days at the university. Which have just started.

She'd die for love. He didn't believe in love. *** From reading The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood, to watching 10 Things I Hate About You, to listening to You are in Love by Taylor Swift, Emily Kingsley's life is a sum of moments she has spent after romance. Watching, reading, listening or daydreaming, romance has never failed to comfort this high school junior of 17 years of age. She has her own issues: self-sabotage, lack of focus in studying, randomly popping up acne and not loving the way she looked. Emily wants a romance for herself too, and she knows just the person for it. Landon McArther, a senior in her school. Landon was everything Emily has always dreamed about and moreover he appreciates her for the person she is. But there's just a teeny-tiny problem. Landon McArther has a girlfriend. While that wasn't in Emily's bingo card, she hopes, prays, and longs for the day Landon will be single (because he is Emily's soulmate, and he has to be) and awaits her chance for romance. I felt a hand under my chin and then I was looking right into Aiden's eyes. "You know that I care about you, right?" He used the same hushed tone. Aiden cared about me? Well, I knew he cared about me, but I didn't know he cared about me. It makes sense. I shrugged. "I don't know," I replied back. "Well, I do. I care about you so much." He whispered. His next move surprised me. He leaned down and placed a soft kiss on my lips that lasted about two seconds before backing away. I looked at the ground, shocked. Oh my god. Aiden just kissed me. Again. And I liked it. A lot. *** Corey Hale and Aiden Praxston don't like each other. At all. Never have, never will. She hates him and he hates her; so she thinks.
