Carl Grimes's life was great. He had both parents, a ton of friends, and a great role model. His dad was a sheriff at the King's County Police Department, while his mom was a stay at home mother. His role model just so happened to be his dad's best friend and partner at the station, Shane Walsh. Carl was content with his life. What more could he want?
Emily Walsh was a good girl. She would anything to please her mother, who was never around. Straight A's, teacher's pet, the quiet student who never got in trouble, etc. Though she didn't have friends, she excelled in school. Home life was quite different. Her mother was an EMT for the city of Atlanta and worked long hours, leaving Emily home alone with her studies and Ms. Ella, her nanny. Emily's father was a sore subject that her mother would never speak of. As far as Emily knew, her father didn't know she existed, but that would change...
By fate, Carl and Emily meet, but only by a tragedy. Their lives are shaken up and rearranged. Not only does their first impression and encounter suck, but so does their future. As time goes on, they see each other as best friends and are inseparable, but will that change when the dead start walking?
All rights go to Robert Kirkman and AMC. The only character I own is Emily and my added characters. I do not own The Walking Dead or any of their characters.

Nell has lost everyone she ever loved. She witnessed her little brother getting tore to shreds right in front of her eyes.
And to make things worse, she is alone.
At this point, Nell would prefer to get eaten alive by brain-munchers. There's no point in life if she isn't even living- she's just surviving.
When the last bit of canned food runs out, it forces Nell to leave her house, but she finds herself in some trouble with a brain-muncher and wakes up in a... farmhouse?
Nell knows to never trust anyone, it's what her dad always told her.
Before her dad died, Nell had a very strange relationship with him. He was abusive- both physically and emotionally.
Nell always thought that was normal. It's normal for dads to get angry and lash out. It's normal to be punished for trying to speak... right?
When she meets the group taking shelter at the farmhouse, will she run away?
Is her need for a true family stronger than her loyalty to her abusive father?
Or will a certain guy with a crossbow and a boy in a sheriff hat show her that life is worth living?

Amazing book cover by @tbr_tales !!
Daryl's daughter/Carl's lover/Found family
The story does not completely follow the plot of The Walking Dead. The plot line strays away from the show at times due to Nell's interference.
Tw: Physical abuse, attempted suicide, gore.
I do NOT own any of the walking dead characters except for Nell, Ollie, and a bunch of others that may be in the story that aren't from twd.
