As crown princesses goes, Ashley isn't a very good heir to the Throne of Clonmel. As her mother lay on her deathbed she was confronted by a startling truth. Ashley's mother was the last in the ancient clan of the Wolf-Speakers, and she had passed on her gift of invisibility and the ability to talk to animals and plants, although another ability quickly comes to light. Running away, Ashley finds herself in Araluen, first becoming a healer under the guidance of Malcolm, and then a Ranger in the apprenticeship of Gilan. Ashley must not let anyone discover that she has magic. But when a lone Wargal is found it leads to something much bigger, endangering her cover, the kingdom and her clan...
