Running away, Ashley finds herself in Araluen, first becoming a healer under the guidance of Malcolm, and then a Ranger in the apprenticeship of Gilan. Ashley must not let anyone discover that she has magic. But when a lone Wargal is found it leads to something much bigger, endangering her cover, the kingdom and her clan...
