For J.A's entire life, he hid his ability to see spirits and his mental illness in order for the consorts not to catch him. Eventually he comes to the conclusion that he must die in order to avoid discovery and to end his suffering. Soon enough, with Sair Storms at his side, J.A leaves Fortitude and enters the world of spirits to understand his curse and to find a way to die.
