Shailene has always had trust issues, and growing up in an abusive home has finally become too much to handle. So when Shailene decides to make a run for it she goes to her childhood best friend, John. But now that they"re older John tours with his band The Maine. Shailene barely gets to see him and when she does its brief. She confesses what's been going on to John and he offers a saving grace and an escape: to come with his band on tour. Shailene doesnt hesitate to cut all ties with her family and leave with her best friend. But things quickly fall to pieces again as Shailene tries to pull her life back together with the help of John and the boys.
