The Blackbourne team and Sang Sorenson fell in love, plain and simple. Except it's not. Because eight months after beginning their complicated and beautiful relationship, it fell apart. Sang was taken out of her home to keep her safe, the Blackbourne team was faced with an emergency, and the Academy was only making things worse. So, at 1 AM in a police station, Sang decided to be the strong one for them and ended things.

Four years later, and Sang has finished her last year of college. She's successful and content, but she hasn't felt complete or happy since ending things with the Blackbourne team. Her heart leads her back home to Charleston for a visit with the family that adopted her. The family that had taught her how to love, live life, and be herself.

She was not expecting to find a disjointed Blackbourne team that not only needs her, but wants her, something vastly different from their foolish relationship as teenagers. And she won't lie to herself: she wants them just as much, craving their presence in her life.

It's a summer of being young and stupid again, of healing, and loving. But can the love last when reality hits them hard and disaster strikes again?
