Taking her chances, she quickly grasped her needle and aimed blindly towards his face hoping she could stab him in the eye. She felt the needle sink in, her fingers brushed his lip. She stabbed him somewhere near his mouth. He let out an anguished scream and slammed her hand against the car; her needle dropped. Then he smacked her across the face almost making her fall back inside the car. She knew she messed up, but couldn't pass up the chance.

Monsters are everywhere, but the human ones are the worst. At least the Creatures of the Night don't kid almost families, friends, neighbors, coworkers. Once reborn they live in the night. Sure, they do all of the same twisted things that humans do to one another, but they don't hide who they are. When you see them you know death is coming. You can predict the sick things they will do to you. But when the monster looks human, you're blindsided. One minute you're in love with a guy and the next he's slitting your throat. Trust me, I speak from experience. Gruesome things that use to make me sick now makes my stomach flutter in joy. I traded charming grins and blue eyes for carved smilies and orbs of onyx. I traded sunlight for the glow of the moon. I gave up living amongst humans for creatures of the night. And I wouldn't go back for anything in the world. I am finally home. I've spent so much time running from monsters that it's my turn to do the chasing. Sweet Dreams...
