"My mother wanted me to go to New York for a reason." I tell Dylan, pushing out of his warm embrace. "And I'm not going to stop you," his breath blew into the cold air. "You need me as much as I need you." -- Larkyn Rose Miller lives in a small community near the border of Wyoming with her mother, Isabella May Wilson-Miller, and her father, Casimir Brooke Miller. Isabella is originally from the North, but was captured by the West because the Wilson family played a great part in the war 60 years prior to the birth of Larkyn. The guards in the West purposely let out a disease that only the West is immune to, so they know who the North are. Isabella falls ill due to the disease and it is time for Larkyn to know what really happened all those years ago. Isabella tells her daughter to pack lightly and run east. Larkyn leaves in the middle of the night when the guards come to execute the family for knowing too much. Before she reaches the border of Wyoming which is the very edge of the Western Hemisphere she meets a tall blonde man, Dylan Finn Clark, who ran from the guards for the murder of the top guard, Gregory Mason. Despite not knowing Dylan they run together to South Dakota, an unknown territory that held bunkers and more secrets. Through their journey they learn more about each other and learn a new way of love.

I stare at Matt's face as he looks down, concentrating on the game. I can tell he's so angry. He's holding it in his jaw, he's clenching his teeth. He's up in his head and I don't know what's going on up there but I just know it's not good. Even if I get him back out now, I know that he's going to overthink everything later tonight. "Matty, it's ok." I whisper. He immediately looks up and finds my eyes. His blue eyes are bluer than normal. Impossibly blue. Not even a gray blue. But a pure, brilliant blue. "It's not ok, Rach. I fucking hate him." His swear catches me off guard a bit. But my eye contact doesn't waver. "Thank you." "You're welcome." My favorite color immediately changes to blue. --------------- Two childhood friends have spent a lifetime battling demons. Will life ever give them a break? Can Matty and Rachel find an ending that is even remotely happy? --------------- DISCLAIMER: This book contains: Adult language: LOTS of Profanity Mental Health topics (anxiety and depression, PTSD) Adult situations: sex, drugs, alcohol, sexual assault Please be aware that: THIS BOOK COULD BE TRIGGERING.
