"My mother wanted me to go to New York for a reason." I tell Dylan, pushing out of his warm embrace. "And I'm not going to stop you," his breath blew into the cold air. "You need me as much as I need you." -- Larkyn Rose Miller lives in a small community near the border of Wyoming with her mother, Isabella May Wilson-Miller, and her father, Casimir Brooke Miller. Isabella is originally from the North, but was captured by the West because the Wilson family played a great part in the war 60 years prior to the birth of Larkyn. The guards in the West purposely let out a disease that only the West is immune to, so they know who the North are. Isabella falls ill due to the disease and it is time for Larkyn to know what really happened all those years ago. Isabella tells her daughter to pack lightly and run east. Larkyn leaves in the middle of the night when the guards come to execute the family for knowing too much. Before she reaches the border of Wyoming which is the very edge of the Western Hemisphere she meets a tall blonde man, Dylan Finn Clark, who ran from the guards for the murder of the top guard, Gregory Mason. Despite not knowing Dylan they run together to South Dakota, an unknown territory that held bunkers and more secrets. Through their journey they learn more about each other and learn a new way of love.

If you were to ask me what if was like to fall in love with a cowboy, I would say it's like a wildfire. Once it starts, there's no way of stoping it. It burns you alive from the inside out. Consumes you, every part of you. At least that's how it felt for me when I fell for a cowboy, one who wasn't even mine and could never be mine because he belonged to somebody else and I'm left with figuring out how to put out this fire that is loving Kayce Dutton. ***** Darkness and tragedy was all Wren Wheeler knew from the day she was brought into this world. The only good thing in her life was her older brother, Rip. The one who saved her from the brutal ending their mother and younger brother weren't so lucky to escape from. She didn't believe they would ever have a chance of surviving out in the world. Not until John Dutton gave them a second chance at life, just as long as they swore to never bring their past with them to his ranch. The ranch where she found herself a family, a sister she never had, and a love she swore she'd never allow herself to experience. Because that kind of love was never meant for a girl like her. Kayce Dutton was never meant for her, and he could never be. They could never exist. Will destiny prove her wrong?
