"Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat."

Keeping Her 18+ (Her Series book three) by HarlotPlay

Alex: Going to the beach with my friends for a week before sophomore year of college seemed like the perfect way to take control of my life and get out from under my parent's thumbs. Then I met a man who made me feel things I didn't know were possible. We spent the week together, and I gave him a part of me I had never given anyone before. It was beautiful and better than I ever dreamed. Like most good things in life, though, it was too good to be true. I went back to my regular life and tried to put the man of my dreams out of my mind, only to find out he left me with a part of him I would cherish forever. Wilder: I found the woman of my dreams, my soulmate, on a beach during a chance encounter. I had everything I could ever want and felt complete for the first time in my life. Then she slipped through my fingers in the middle of the night, taking my heart with her. Four years later, I finally found her again, right in my home town and with a little boy that looks just like me. I learned from my past mistakes, and now that I have her again, I won't be letting her slip away. I'm keeping her. This is part of a series. The first and second book can be found on my page (Protecting Her) and (Rescuing Her). Each book is a standalone with interconnecting couples. This series follows the Brooks brothers as they each find their destined soulmates. Each book is a different couple. WARNING: This book contains an over the top, possessive, alphahole. This is an insta-love story. For readers 18+ ONLY.
Saving Grace by allie7

"Dance with me." While I knew it wasn't a demand, it wasn't a question either. I hesitated and he noticed. "Come on Grace, give this gentleman the honor of a dance." "I don't see a gentleman anywhere." He chuckled, stepping closer and tucking his thumbs into his tight jean pockets. He looked like every woman's dream--dark jeans that hugged him sinfully, golden-tanned skin contrasted by his white-fitted shirt, a black, wide-brimmed cowboy hat, and a smile that could send any woman on her knees. Not to mention a voice that coated your skin like silk sheets. I hated how much I noticed. "You're right, but I would like the honor anyway... ma'am." ********************* Meet Grace--living the city life, reserved, eager to please, loyal to a fault. Feeling empty for reasons she's not yet sure of, she's adamant on chasing anything that makes her feel free. Meet Colt--living the country life, private, stubborn, outspoken. Feeling empty for reasons he's well aware of, he hides in his daily routine. Grace can't seem to figure out why she holds nothing back when it comes to Colt. He's absolutely infuriating. Colt can't seem to understand the affect Grace has on him, and why he cares what she does. She's entirely maddening. When the two get lost in the wilderness, it's up to Colt to get them back. Can they put their differences aside long enough to survive? Is it Colt who will save Grace, or is it she who will be his saving grace? In JOS I set the rogue and con-artist Harric against a foil of warriors in a land threatened by magic and civil war. Whenever possible I turn familiar tropes on their heads: instead of a handsome young Lancelot, I cast a broken-down ex-champion addicted to pain-killing herbs; instead of a dashing Squire Brian, the old knight reluctantly takes an ambitious young woman as squire. Similarly, I re-imagine the standard medieval milieu by infusing aspects of two of my favorite historical periods, Elizabethan England, and The American Frontier. Both eras boast a kind of nationalistic arrogance that borders on hubris, and a magnificent spirit of resourcefulness and re-invention that is fun to play with. SERIES The Jack of Souls is first in a series. I am posting parts of the sequel here now (The Knave of Souls), to help me refine the story.

HIGHEST RANKING #80 "Will you work with me in a civil manner?" "I'm sorry, what?" "Just answer the question, Grey." "I just told you I want to win this too. I don't have a choice, do I?" I mumbled irritably. "Good, because we are going to be the best." _____________________________________ 'Fleur Cup'; a month long competition wherein one needs to find the maximum number of different colored flowers. Arabella Colours wants to carry on the legacy of her house by winning the 'Fleur Cup', which isn't exactly a cakewalk, especially since you've a partner known to be a recluse. Braydon Grey had better things to do than just participate in a stupid flower-finding competition, but then, this could be his only chance to go to Yale. So when the two have absolutely no choice but helping each other, they both know that it isn't going to be easy. Especially if you have annoying contenders and a series of drama surrounding your personal life, but maybe they don't have to face all the challenges alone. After all, they are partners, right? Maybe the quirky girl was not so bad for the dull guy, after all. ॥•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••॥ This is my first book, and therefore I request all of you to bare with me, and my writing as it still needs a lot of improvement.
