Small-town girl Dallas Hopkins has always dreamed of making the world a better place after being bullied at a young age, and what better way then to stop crime by being a police officer. Unfortunately, her town is so small that almost every adult in her community has settled with the thought that they are never leaving the town and that their children will take over their family farm when they die or get too old to work, just like it's been done for generations, but Dallas refuses to accept that fate. Although no one believes that she can become a cop, Dallas presses on and ends up graduating at the top of her class from Michigan State Police Academy in Lansing, Michigan.
When Dallas gets assigned to the bustling city of Chicago she is shocked by the amount of crime committed in the city. When her first few days turn out to be a bust, will she keep on following her boss's orders, or will she help the sobbing woman who comes to the station every day?
