Mikasa is a a lonely women with many to no flaws and much money left from her grandparents will. She moved away from home to live her own life in LA because her grandparents will is not the only thing she wanted to live off of. She wanted to prove she could be independent without anyone's will.
Levi on the other hand, came from a family with many flaws and issues. He with many past family issues has his own business and is a CEO of Ackerman Industries. You'll soon find out he has an abusive past, this past effects his future and his prospective on women. His money and fame can't hide this mentally abusive monster much longer.
