Class 5-E, the 5th period engineering class of Fowler High. You'd expect it to be filled with the stereotypical GT (which stands for gifted and talented) nerds or kids who accidentally picked the wrong elective. But actually, this class is filled with many different people with many different stories. And all of them chose to be in this, and none of them want to go out.
This is mainly a story about them and how all of them impacted my life, for better and worse. During the school year, we all had developed a special bond that we hope could last for a very long time. It's like one big family, well, one big crazy idiotic family. Class 5-E isn't anything truly special, it's just the people in it who make it that way.
And me? I'm Cassandra Joyce, just a random teenage girl who was hoping to have a drama free yearand be away from the spotlight. Unfortunately, some wishes don't come true.

The Best Kind of Betrayal
It's the first day of June's senior year and everything is already going wrong. Her first boyfriend and supposedly love of her life dumps her for someone else, her heart is broken and feels like it won't ever heal again and her best friend makes her join the most unnecessary club on earth to help her find new friends she most definitely does not need. Still. New chances are for new beginnings, right? Instead of falling into a deep dark pit of self pity (however tempting that may sound), all of this betrayal ends up leading her to the best friends she's ever had and the most exciting school year of her life. Oh - and a whole new fake boyfriend, to get some revenge on that idiot who dumped her. And who knows. Maybe even more.
Brody's Girl
A shy high school senior jock and a closed-off girl battling an immune disorder fake a relationship to win a social media contest. Being shy isn't easy, especially when you're the new kid at school. Scotts Valley's football program is subpar compared to my last school's team, but the starters underestimate my all-conference skills. Girls eye me like fresh meat. Mom's cooking has the fire department on speed dial, and her game cheering makes me want to crawl under the bleachers. In the middle of all this stress, I'm still so tongue-tied that I can't talk to anyone. Scotts Valley High's 'Golden Couple' competition-which I want no part of-grates my nerves. I want to play football and baseball, then continue whatever gets me a college scholarship. Only Paige treats me as a normal person. People at school say she's quiet and closed-off, but she's nice to me. She's hiding her awesome self under baggy clothes and the brightest, pinkest hair I've ever seen. I don't understand why she's picked on, and I don't like it. Her medical bills are mounting, so I'm doing something about it. Paige and I pretend to date to remove ourselves from the rumor mill and win the Golden Couple's cash prize. You know the old saying fake it til you make it? Well my best friend took that a little too seriously. Caitlyn came up with a crazy scheme to help me finally get the guy I had been crushing on for three years. Her plan was a little unorthodox to say the least. She decided that her and her boyfriend Colton should stage a break up so I could pretend to date him for a month. He was the quarterback of the football team and the most popular guy in school. She said dating him would make the guys at our school finally stop seeing me as a shy, undateable nerd. She said I would have my pick of any guy after that, including my crush Takashi. It was the most ridiculous plan I had ever heard of. There was no way anyone would actually believe me and Colton were dating. He was the quarterback of the football team. It would have probably been easier to convince the whole school that I was dating the President. The problem was, I knew she was right. It was probably the only way I could get Takashi (my crush) to see me as girlfriend material and I wanted that more than anything in the world. Plus, Caitlyn's crazy schemes usually worked and I was desperate, so I reluctantly agreed to it. The weirdest part of the whole thing was, her boyfriend Colton used to be my best friend before him and her started dating and she gradually took his place as my best friend. Bad Boy: A boy who is misunderstood and often rides a motorbike, gets into fights, does drugs, breaks the hearts of innocent girl. This is Trey Denver. Maybe there's more than meets the eye. Nerd: A person often described with lots of pimples and big glasses and wearing clothes for comfort. Not only that but is really smart and doesn't have much of a social life. This is Ellie Roger. People aren't always the image they are seen as. Popular people: People who are outgoing and nice. Sometimes up themselves and can be mean too. Something everyone seems to want to be. This is Max and Maxine Hendersen. Maybe they want to be something more than just the popular. S**ts: Girls who pile makeup on themselves to make them look like Barbie dolls and often act rude and talk about people behind one another. Show a lot of skin and go from guy to guy. What Summer Brings
Sixteen year old Tinsley Mathis seemingly has a good high schooler's life. She's dating Manuel Rivera, who is one of the hottest guys at school, has three best friends, and has a good relationship with her mom. But on the last day of school, her and Manuel go to a party, and she catches him flirting with a girl, which is a continuous problem with him. After the party, she confronts him, and breaks up with him. Although she was sad, her friends were there to cheer her up. When one of her friend's invites the group to join her and her mom to go on a summer vacation to Greece, they decide to go. In Greece, Tinsley meets another guy on vacation named Caleb Reed. They hang out, talk, and kiss, just like how any other summer fling goes. When she gets back from vacation, Manuel apologizes and begs for her back, claiming he was very drunk, so she takes him back. On her first day of junior year, she was having a typical normal day, until she coincidentally sees Caleb at school. Manuel has no clue what happened in Greece, and she definitely doesn't want him to find out, even though they were broken up at the time. Will she be able to keep that a secret? "Well then. That's the first time a girl has ever rejected my close proximity," he said, eyes ablaze with a playful fire. "You better get used to it," I retorted as I spun on my heel and headed for the school doors that led to the outside. "I've never met anyone like you before," he called after me, this time, not coming after me. "I know, Romeo. I'm a special little snowflake," I called back, not turning around. "You got the 'little' part right there, Princess!" he shouted after me. I threw up my middle finger back to him and heard him laugh as I exited out the doors rather dramatically. ... I'm tired of all those high school stories about a straight-A girl student with the perfect life who falls for the stereotypical Mr. Bad Boy who wears leather black jackets and only has a soft spot for her. That's not how the real world works, sweetheart. I may look like a damsel, but I'm never in distress. ... Do you ever wonder what life would be like if it were a movie? Or some sappy romance novel that you wish your life could be like but it's not? Sometimes you may even get to caught up in the fictional world that you don't realise it IS fictional. Then when you do realise life isn't what you convinced yourself it would be, there is only one possible outcome. Depression. Which may lead to anxiety, self-harm, low self esteem, and worst of all, losing the people you love. Life works in weird ways. Not just for you but for others too. Take Cassidy Rivers for example.
