In a world where bending is everything, if you possess the power to bend one of the four elements you are accepted into the society. But if you don't, you are enslaved. At least that's how it used to be. Now, not even the benders are safe. Every year the Capital of the land known as Dementia forces its eight providences to give up one bender of each element to be brought to an arena and fight to the death until two contestants remain. When seventeen year old Ariel Clearwater is drafted to compete in these annual games, she has to rely only on her bending and skills to survive in order to keep her promises to her family. Ariel struggles to keep her morals in tact while she is brought to the cruel Capital to be shown off to the world and eventually to kill other kids her age and younger. Ariel will have to test the boundaries of life, trust, friendship, and love if she is able to live.
