Audrey Edwards has been school royalty ever since she stepped foot in St. Andrews High School, Greenwich, Connecticut. Until tragedy strikes on her 16th birthday. This tragedy isn't the usual kind; not a pimple or a broken nail, cakey makeup or even an earthquake. It's something much closer to home. Audrey is thrown into the ruthlessly unfamiliar world of loneliness and confusion and is sent to go live with her father in Los Angeles, California. Audrey tries to pick up her 'royalty' status at her new school but is faced with the hardship of not being accepted into her new environment. On top of all of this Audrey struggles to form a bond with her father due to his unforgettable and unforgivable mistakes of his past. Haunted by the ghost of her past Audrey struggles forming relationships with the kids at her new school and fights for acceptance from her peers and, most importantly, from herself.
