Inspired by the James Bay song, "Need the Sun to Break". I have zero rights to the song in any way, I just used some of the lyrics to inspire this little short story. You absolutely don't need to know the song to enjoy the story, but I think it's lovely to read it while listening!!
Jack's stuck in a rut. His family seems to be combusting before his very eyes, leaving him with a very difficult decision to make. But when he sees Eliza, he feels like he can finally breath again after spending so many months struggling to stay alive. Can Jack make it work with his personal patch of sunlight?

I wrote something several years ago, but those works were super terrible, and I wish they never exisited. Guy looked at me with a serious expression on his face, "You know James, it seems to me like you might have a crush on me."
