The Last Crucible: Blood Witch
When a group of Bryrwood elves are captured in the East Mountains by an old witch, a reluctant mercenary is tasked by a Western King to aid an escaped elf in rescuing his surviving comrades. But what they find is far worse than a simple witch and her grotesque "children".

Jhon Darric is your average, run-of-the-mill mercenary; he fights for gold and silver, and then he drinks it away. Known to have a shadowy past he refuses to talk about, he considers himself a "lone soul", and doesn't find the need for friends. He'll do any job for money, so long as he can bloody his blade too.
When he's called upon by King Eudmond to assist a company of soldiers to investigate the claim of a Thalovin elf, his whole world is turned upside down when he is thrust into a battle against a powerful witch whose intentions are unknown, but surely evil - and he is left with the choice of becoming a hero and discovering his destiny, or turning his back and returning to a life of drinking and peace.

Elindir is not just another Bryrwood elf, he is a Thalovin of the Bryrwood; an order of intensely trained elves who are trained to be the most deadliest warriors of their kingdom, and potentially their entire race. Known as the "First Order", Thalovin elves have been trained and tested since they first walked Midland.
He is assigned to a small group of Thalovin elves, along with a mage of the Magi Order, a warrior and twin girls, who are tasked to scout along the treacherous East Mountains, where his group is ambushed by a witch and her grotesque, wolf-goblin like creatures. He manages to escape the witches grasp, but now must seek help from the Western Kings of Midland in order to rescue his companions - if any have survived.
