...She came into my life at the worst possible time...I could not keep her safe anymore; the hiding, the sneaking, the danger...it was too hard. When I first found her, for some reason I could not let anything happen to her. She was different...there was no way in hell I deserved her. She was better than this, she was pure and good. My past would keep coming back. I had no intention to hurt her, yet no matter how hard I tried to make myself let go of her, I could not. I was hurting her.
I stared down at her, listening quietly to the soft sounds of her breathing. This was selfish.
I had to make her leave; to simply forget everything about me and walk away, but the thought of it hurt...I needed her more than she needed me. Her beautiful long blonde hair was scattered on the pillow. I tried to save her from the darkness...I tried to keep her away, I tried to do anything possible to see her innocent mouth turn upwards in a half-smile. I tried to save her from it all, but in the end, it was too late. Nobody can be saved from this.
