I'd seen this once before.
These markings were supposed to record the story of our ancestors, the ones who survived the war...
But I don't understand this particular symbol.
It's shaped like two V's. Maybe an upside down peak? Meaning failure? Or maybe they're simply initials of someone important... but that doesn't seem quite right...
My hand unconsciously lifts to graze my abnormally-fast growing teeth...
Oh. The realization came like a bucket of ice dropping in my stomach.
They are fangs. Our ancestors, the one who won the war, had an awfully unfair advantage.
"They were vampires." I realize with a start.
