That's why the High School Sociables chose her as West Irvington's popular girl, the mean girl even. The High School Sociable is a secret government organization giving teenagers the "High School Experience". What they do is hire other teenagers to play the top rank of any cliche group like the Quarter Back or the Goth. So when they ask Lacey Abrams to be the Queen Bee, she accepts.
Lacey Abrams rules the school like any other popular girl. Her life consists of cliches she has to live through to give other students the High School Experience which she doesn't mind: the parties, the minions, and to state the obvious the popularity.
Everything was smooth or as smooth as it can be for Lacey. But what happens when HSS's new player rolls into town. Lacey thinks that every guy is the same: hot and stupid. This player's hot, of course, but nice?
Lacey tries finds every reason to hate him, but what happens when she realizes she doesn't?

We've all heard about 'the main character'. The type of person who lives through the most dramatic and improbable situations, and finds the kind of epic romance you only see in works of fiction. Which makes you think about how unrealistic love like that is. I used to think the same thing until I met him. Until I met 'the bad boy' that, as it turns out, wasn't that bad at all, just simply...a boy. A boy with an easy smile, a charming personality and looks so enticing that I couldn't keep my eyes off of him if I tried. A boy whose shoulders were starting to slump with the weight of his past and his family. A boy who believed that the only way to survive was by putting a lock on his heart and chaining it down to a place so deep inside of him that no one could ever reach it again.
