Luckily for him, he didn't, and so began a quest to not only find out why he'd been left for dead on a world not his own, but a quest to understand who and what he was, for he possessed an ability like no man before him. Not just simple charisma, but the power to influence decisions and affect judgments. Every night, Alex will have flashes of a woman with red hair running with a baby in her arms. Flashes of a lab and scientists experimenting on him. He always wakes up in a cold sweat and breaths heavily after every nightmare. A few years later, the old Iraq vet died of old age and Alex couldn't bring himself to visit his friend's grave. The vet's family knew about Alex, but he disappeared after his friend died of old age. But one day he saw someone who was fighting with the Avengers and the new Avengers and she had pink skin and green hair with yellow eyes. He couldn't keep his eyes off of her, until she was hit by a bad guy that she and both teams were fighting and something inside Alex snapped when he saw her get hurt. The machines molded into killers, destroying Utopia and everything it was promised to be. The people begged the Utopian government to resolve the problem, but instead they fled to pre-made shelters and sent soldiers to control the rebellious, fearful citizens. The empire of safety became known as the Mechanical Hell, but was shortened to a simpler name: Mech. Can the rebellion free the struggling human race from the evils of their gigantic steel prison? This combined with a debt seeking alien come to collect the Vermillion that Starhammer lost to him in a dart game, manage launch a secret plot to assassinate a political figure in order to trigger a war that they intend on blaming on Starhammer.

We join Sinclair now on the military passenger jet as he finds himself once again witnessing a murder. His closest colleague's murder. But for Sinclair... there would be a more intimate end-of-life experience.
