You sat down fully on the limb just to get a better look at them. There was a tall man standing below you - your feet were just a little bit above his head, and you were almost seven feet up the tree. His gloved hand was carefully holding onto an oddly shaped knife, and his head was covered by a black hoodie; at least, it covered everything but the blue mask that made your breath catch in your throat.
Normally, all of that would have been fine with you. Knife-wielding weirdos weren't an impossibility around here. The crime rate in the next city was so high, you had expected something like this to happen ages ago, it was pure luck that it took this long.
Safe to say, his natural appearance wasn't what put you on edge. When your eyes wandered up to meet his gaze, your heart stuttered in your chest. The eyeholes in the mask were pitch black.
