Dragons were hated by almost everyone.
Trained by a few lucky souls.
And fascinating and loved by one little slave girl. Her name was Katherine and this is the story of how she saved a dragon,
Fell in love and made new enemies

I ran as fast as I could. Fear making its way through my veins. I hear the thump from the dragons paws.
I try to get my body to go faster but my muscles where already dead.
I slow down and turn to face the beast. I take a deep breath and look into the eyes of a giant fire-breathing dragon.

The Dragon Prince
I was destined to be a Dragon Rider since birth, even without having or finding my dragon at that age. I was destined to protect and serve not only my kingdom but also the other kingdoms that surrounded my kingdom, both supernatural creatures and humans alike. I was destined for greatness, or so I have been told, but that was something that I didn't understand or didn't care about at such a young age or even as I grew older until I became a young adult. And unfortunately, it was something that I should have listened to or asked questions to get myself prepared for whatever it was that I had to face. Because not only was I destined to be a Dragon Rider, but I was destined to be the Dragon Queen, for I was fated to the Dragon Prince, who was to be the Dragon King as soon as he claimed me as his own...

Welcome to my adventure into writing a short story for the Dragon Princess theme set by @_Once_Upon. If you find the idea of writing to a subject for a competition, make sure you check out Ever After Contests. This is a short story about a fiery princess who vows revenge on her would-be hero. The word count was a maximum of ten thousand words which wasn't easy to stay under; I wanted to keep going! I hope that you enjoy this tale, I certainly had fun writing it. The Dragon's Princess
Princess Katalin (Kat-a-lin) of Litha is her mother's, Queen Celeste, pride and joy. She was raised to be the perfect Queen who's a powerful sorceress and also expertly trained in fighting. However, behind Celeste's back, she was rebellious with her two best friends Indigo and Blaire. (Those are stories her mother would never get to hear) Her life was all mapped out for her. She was trained to perfection by her mother, she was to wait until the perfect prince came along that she would then marry and then rule with. Unfortunately, things don't always go as planned. A wrench was thrown in Celeste's plans for her child, and that wrench had a name that everyone in the Seven Kingdoms feared. Amadeus (A-ma-de-us), King of Dragons. The second that Katalin and Amadeus meet, any plan that Celeste had created came to a screeching halt. It turns Katalin's life upside down and her mother's grand plan is now crumbling to pieces around her all because of one man. The question was, would Celeste be able to stop it before it was too late or would Katalin finally get take control of her life?
