Alessandro Calastri is a native of New York whose Italian roots run deep. Both his parents are from Italy and his grandparents still live there, so he goes back as often as he can. He holds a degree in International Relations from Providence College, and also two certificates in Restaurant Management and chef training from the International Culinary Center. After starting his career as a research analyst at a brokerage, he decided he would be happier in the restaurant business. Today he is the Assistant General Manager of a Greenwich Village restaurant.
