Gale needs some damn love, he needs someone.

Willow needs an opportunity, she needs affection.

If she could see the scars on his mind, she'd be scared. If he could see hers, he'd never let her be hurt again.

And maybe he is dangerous, and maybe he is fiery. But then again, so is she. Besides, the light they both shine, which is bright and brief, is starting to go out... Perhaps, in their way to save themselves, they'll save each other.
