The Legend of Naida is a story I, and one of my friends helped, create.
Naida was once an underwater utopia, where sirens and fish lived peacefully under the rule of a powerful king. However, when his daughter takes control, she avoids it, and because of her actions caused it to be destroyed. With no home left, she flees.
Time passes and eventually, becoming convinced by a seahorse, decided to go back to fix her past mistake. But what will it cost to have what you've always wanted back?

For years, no, her whole life, Naida Muriel has been attracted to the sea. It's rhythmic tide, soothing waves, powerful potential, and the way it seemed to sing to her when she was alone. All of her friends claimed they heard no singing, whether they were alone or with her. Yet, before dawn, before the birds sang, before the sun rose. and when the fog still clung to the sand dunes, she would walk down to the sandy shore and listen to the music of the ocean, singing meaningful lyrics in a language unknown to her. There, they were forced to do unmentionable and traumatizing things. Michaela doesn't know if she'll ever return to the coral castle she so briefly saw her parents call home, and if she does, what kind of life might that be? Nia's life is torn between the Maji and the humans who took her in when her own family went missing. Seen as a failure in the Maji world, she is determined to find a way to become human herself and lead a new life with her friend and her love. But when the mythical gift of the Siren's Kiss awakens in her, both worlds are turned upside down. Nia's newfound power has the ability to save either the human world she covets or the mermaid world she despises. Whichever she chooses to save will destroy the other. Authors note: This is a story I wrote to keep my spirits up when I was furloughed in 2020 due to COVID. A Mermaid for the Lonely
A mermaid named Sirène, whose job as a mermaid is to guide those who have died at sea to rest their souls and not be trapped. She typically finds sailors whose ships have sunk, and pirates and convoys alike. Her personality is one of seriousness, and she does not express herself by facial expressions very often. She does sung lovely tunes though, ones of the sea and winds, not ones meant to lure anyone to their doom. She seldom spends time with other merfolk and prefers to be on her own. She is however very curious of the various emotions humans possess and their intensity, since she does not feel these. One day, while Sirène was staying near Pointe de Pen Hir, a dangerous cliffside that plunges right into the ocean. Looking upwards by chance, she saw a human, a man, standing dangerously near the edge of the rocks. The wind blew harshly and she could only watch and wait as he toppled over the edge and feel towards the ocean. She saw no fight in him as he fell. ________________________________________________________________ This is a fantasy story with my mermaid OC that I started making back when I was in middle school. I've used her character to help me through tough times and I am revisiting her. I want to make sure I have a place to remember her story, and make it a happier one than before.Complete
