After the one he loves betrays him, and the people he loves die, Percy will never love again. Hera, Hestia, and Artemis adopt him and he gains godhood, hating the naivete of love he takes a vow and swears off love eternally. He gets a wish from the gods as a thank you for saving Olympus a second time and, choosing to follow in Artemis' footsteps and founds a male version of the hunters. Percy becomes the god of the hunt (a gladly shared title with Artemis), Protectors, swordplay, household happiness, hero's, calm seas and raging tides. He is finally content, but not everyone wants that to continue.

When Perseus Jackson was young, he was constantly abused by his loving stepfather, Gabe Ugliano. *snorts* One day, when Sally Jackson went to kindergarten to pick Percy up, they were attacked by a single hellhound. As Sally Jackson takes her final breath, three goddesses appear. Hestia, Artemis and Hera. Blessing the young boy with all they have. Apollo, being a loving brother, also blessed him. Hades and Persephone come to the living world as well just to see who killed their hellhound at age two.
