Even staat mijn wereld onderste boven. "Zwadderich" hoor ik de sorteerhoed zeggen. 'Nee, dit klopt niet! Ik ben geen Zwadderaar!' snauw ik door de zaal. Mensen van de tafels kijken me raar aan. Ik ren de grote zaal uit opzoek naar een toilet waar ik mijn tranen kan laten gaan.
Het leven is niet zo best, als beide ouders Griffoendor waren en jij in Zwadderich terecht komt. Dat is het tenminste voor Dale. Hij gaat voor het eerst naar toverschool Zweinstein, maar zo wilt hij dit niet. Niet alleen dat, ook komen andere raadsels naar zich toe.
