Logan and Patton are the parents of the adopted 3 year old twins Remus and Roman. Dean (Deceit) is a single father of adopted 3 year old Virgil, who just moved in to the house across the street. Virgil, though only 3, deals with extreme anxiety, he's a slow learner so he doesn't talk very much and rarely, if not ever, leaves Dean's side and has developed trust issues and PTSD due to the incident that caused them to move in the first place. Unfortunately due to the new circumstances, Dean now has to work so that they can afford to live and is unable to afford for Virgil to go to daycare. Since Patton is a stay at home dad and was very friendly the first time meeting, Dean puts Virgil in his care also hoping that it will help Virgil with his social skills and being around other kids his age. Virgil's band plays Friday nights at a music lounge. Roman has never been, he doesn't even know anything about Virgil other than they go to the same school and share some classes. Also that Virgil is hot. One Friday night Patton convinces Roman to go to the music lounge with him because he was invited by Logan and Roman just broke up with his boyfriend. Logan has had a crush on Patton for a while so he finally asked him to come see his band play. Roman doesn't want to go at first but Patton convinces him. Hearing Virgil sing for the first time blows him away. He then starts accompanying Patton every Friday.

Patton lives in a world where the first words your soulmate says to you is written on your skin. The permentant presence of the words 'You're in my seat' on his thigh had yet to disappear until his soulmate utters them one day. Deep down he dreaded that day. You see, Patton had no interest in a romantic relationship which was abnormal in a world ruled by the soulmate system. Virgil hated the soulmate system. He hated it because it gave him the words 'well aren't you a ray of sunshine' printed boldly on his forehead. Luckily for him, foundation was his best friend (and his only friend, for that matter). He never showed it, but he longed for the day his soulmate would sweep the aggravating statement off his forehead and him off his feet. Logan, to put it simply, was married to his work. A love interest didn't interest him in the slightest. The only heed he took that the soulmate system existed was the thinly printed 'what did you say?' on his left palm. He heard that statement a lot but the mild annoyance on his hand was yet to disappear. Roman lived up to his name as a big romantic. In his eyes, the soulmate system was the best thing to happen to him, so the fact that the words written on his collarbone were 'go away' really burst his bubble. The thought of spending his life with his 'other half' was enthralling to him, but the fact his dad expected him to settle down with a nice girl was terrifying. Virgil is sent to his Uncle Patton's place to live and goes to a new school. There he meets an annoying kid who somehow befriends him, but little does he know the kid was sent by his father to protect him. The religious parts of this story is based loosely (very loosely) around christianity. Pairings will be prinxiety, logicality, and demus, if it's not your jam that's fine you don't need to read. There will be trigger warnings at the beginning of every chapter that will include cursing, death and blood. The main characters belong to Thomas Sanders on YouTube, only the side characters are mine.
