Byun Baekhyun's last real smile was more than 1 year ago. He lives in agonising depression and believes that there is no hope for him to ever truly feel happy again. The new kid at school, Park Chanyeol, notices that he's unhappy and tries his best to change it. Baekhyun, being the mess he is, isn't used to this and hurts Chanyeol.
