A year later, a young paranormal enthusiast spots two astronomical anomalies orbiting the moon and immediately makes plans to bring them to Earth, firmly believing that the two metal spheres are alien in origin. Not long after Wheatley finds his way back from the moon, he goes to find Chell. The first thing she does when they meet is slap him. Wheatley's not appalled, in fact, he feels he quite deserves it. When he realizes that life on the outside of Aperture isn't as easy as he had originally thought, Chell's heart is softened a little, and so they start living together. The tension is thick at first but mellows down a bit as their relationship goes on.
