She's always been the apple of everyone's eyes, obeying every rule, making her family proud with her scholarships and what not. There was an extent to her behaviour and she'd finally reached it. Emily Harrison couldn't take it anymore she wanted nothing but to live her life to her own accord rather than always having to meet people's eyes. Her gorgeous looks attracted guys older than her and she wanted nothing to do with them. So when her mother, Anna decided to set her marriage with the charming seven-year older, rich boy Clayton she decided that was it. It was no longer her choice of how Emily would live her life. On her journey to New York though she comes across someone who just might spin things out of control and make things much more confusing, Aaron Cuberston.

Elijah is surviving though the last year of high school the only way he knows how. By working hard, hiding his obsessive compulsive disorder, and keeping social interaction to a minimum. His plan was working until a certain Ryan Stone, the most feared boy in school, decides he needs Elijah's help to pass his English class. As they get to know more about one another, an unlikely friendship develops and feelings start to emerge that neither were prepared for. Indifference may have been the theme of the English project that brought them together, but it also might very well be the thing that tears them apart too.
