Drawn together by a mutual love for books, they spent their days lost in stories and deep conversations. As their bond grew, so did their feelings for each other, venturing into the uncharted territory of young love. Despite their connection, they are from different worlds and neither knew what to do about their blossoming emotions. When Summer makes a bet with his best friend to remain romance free for the summer it seems easy to him. He has rarely dated or had much interest in dating and it's the last thing on his mind right now as he recovers from a bad depressive episode. So when a beautiful boy with the prettiest brown eyes comes to stay with him for the summer he isn't worried. But then he can't get him out of his head and as he gets to know Caleb more it becomes harder and harder to keep himself from falling for him. Summer might end up losing this bet after all.

Summer is intoxicatingly beautiful and she knows it. Everyone wants to be her, dazzling and glimmering from the inside out. Watching her float through life without a care in the world was the ultimate torture. You just had to know her and most anyone would do anything to get close enough. What no one understands is Summer is not as perfect as she seems. Not by a long shot. And trying to hold it all together is like silently suffocating inside her own head. She can feel herself slipping away, underneath the silent gaze of the moon and nothing she does seems to stop it. Until she somehow stumbles into Ace, who is as beautiful as he is cruel. He takes what he wants and doesn't care how he gets it. Pushing people away is what he knows and no one dares to get close enough or else they might get ripped to shreds. Summer doesn't trust Ace. She doesn't want or need him. He's frustrating, stubborn and doesn't care about anyone but himself. But a part of her can't help but feel drawn even as destructive and explosive as he seems to be. Then someone starts threatening Summer, sending her vicious notes, placing dead animals on her step, destroying her things. And to her surprise Ace vows to help find this mysterious person, pulling the two of them together in an unexpected way. But just as Summer finds herself growing closer to Ace, she begins to realize that this person doesn't just want her destroyed. They want her dead.
