** This is a work in progress novel. I also have a completed short story called "In This Desolate World" that is based on the same world and main character, but has different situations and outcomes. Year 3071. Exoplanet Steel-1, the only planet in the system along with it's moon, was once a site for mass drone production factory called "Chimera's Dawn" by the JC Jenson company, later modified into a secret research facility, renamed to "Chimera's Fall", to investigate what caused the destruction of Earth and reason behind drones turning against humanity. Few years after the events on the Earth, something known as "The Absolute Solver" created a deadly energy shockwave on Steel-1, resulted in planet's decaying state, annihilated all humans, destroyed most of the machinery, and deactivated or damaged most of the drones on the planet. The surviving worker drones have established a survival base in an abandoned Communications and Surveillance Center called the "Steel Eye". Thorne's town has been overrun, and she has been forced to go on a road trip that may never end. Along with her best friend, and other accumulated survivors their path has crossed with, they take a journey across the country to get away from the terror of the dead -- and the living. Warning: this is the old version (which you hopefully realized by the title). The new version is very much different, much more thought out and outlined. It hasn't been posted yet (still needs to be written and then lots of revising). I'd say enjoy this version while it's still posted... but honestly, it's rather rocky as I sort of jumped into the book without a plan, clear plot, or anything. The colony has dubbed you the "medical drone" and made you the doctor of the colony. You were taken care of because if you died, the colony dies along with you, but that came with great responsibility that was much for someone as young as you, but had no choice but to grow up for everyone's sake. Content Warning-This story is meant for mature audiences. It features adult language, references, situations, sexual content, graphic violence, and gore. Fantasy, horror, and science fiction are my favorite genres to read. They are also my favorite to write. I've enjoyed writing since I won my first writing contest in the fourth grade. That was over twenty-five years ago and I haven't shared a sinlge word of it. Imposter syndrome is a bitch! Well, I finally managed to pull the trigger. Here is "O Negative". It's a mix of all of my favorite genres. I've mixed a fantasy, based on present-day Earth, with plenty of graphic horror and wrapped it all up within a world driven by the technological advancements that only can be obtained from millions of years of civilation. A small group of strangers find themselves surviving in a decimated world. It's bad enough to be stranded in a no-name town, but things become surreal when you realize the vast majority of humanity has died...it becomes terrifying when you realize you aren't that lucky to be alive. "Survivor's Guilt" isn't a thing when you find yourself the sole food source for an entire group of beings that no longer need to hide in the shadows. Man is no longer at the top of the food chain...they are now the cattle.
